Apps Like Ibotta

The average American family spends just over $4,000 per year on groceries. That’s a lot of money. But saving money on groceries can be even just by using coupons and any of the money-saving apps available.

Ibotta is one of my favorite apps to use. It’s helped my family save a lot of money over the past several years. But it’s not the only way to get cash back on groceries. There are quite a few other apps like Ibotta that will all do the trick.

6 Apps Like Ibotta That You Should Try

Before your next grocery shopping trip, make sure you check out one or all of these apps. Your wallet will thank you.

1. Checkout 51

Checkout51

Besides Ibotta, Checkout 51 is one of the more popular receipt scanning apps available.

Best of all, it’s simple to get started using. Once you download the Checkout 51 app, scan your shopping receipt and then claim offers from the list of available items. Then all you have to do is wait for the cash back to reach your account.

They do have a payment threshold of $20, but once you reach that, you can request a check to be mailed.

Each Thursday a new group of offers will be available. Some might be the same as the previous week, but others will be brand new.

2. Shopkick

When Shopkick was first released, they gave you the chance to earn Kicks (their term for rewards) for simply walking into a store. Today, they have expanded their earnings model and now you many other options available for earning rewards. These include the following:

  • Walking into stores – Earn Kicks just for walking into a store.
  • Scan barcodes – Scan the barcode for certain products with their in-app scanner.
  • Make purchases with a linked card – Shopkick has partnered with select stores and you will be rewarded for every dollar you spend with a linked credit card.

So now you might be wondering what you can do with the Kicks you earn. It’s simple, they can be redeemed for gift cards to your favorite stores.

3. SavingStar

Out of all the popular apps like Ibotta, the one I’ve been using the longest is probably SavingStar.

You have two different options for earning cash back from SavingStar. You can either connect a stores shopping card to your account or you can scan your receipts.

When you connect your shopper’s card, you will select offers you want to redeem, then once you purchase those items, cash back will be added to your account.

Once you have $5 in your SavingStar account you can cash out into a Paypal account, bank account or donate your earnings to a charity.

4. BerryCart

berrycart

My wife and I do our best to make sure our family eats as healthy as possible. If you find yourself frequently purchasing organic or gluten-free foods, then you will be interested in BerryCart.

This mobile app will not only help you save money, but you will also become a little more informed. What do I mean by that? Let’s take a look at how Berry Cart works and you’ll understand.

To start you will browse through the BerryCart app to find different products you’re interested in. Each product you select will have little bits of information you can absorb. One product might teach you about an Acai berry and another might give you the deeper meaning of a companies name.

Then once you have purchased the product, you just need to snap a photo of your itemized grocery receipt. Then within 24 hours, you will earn cash back that can be withdrawn through Paypal or for different gift cards.

5. Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog is a little like Ibotta, but instead of paying out for specific offers, you can get paid for anything you purchase. You just need to have a receipt that can be scanned. After your receipt is scanned, you will receive coins that can be redeemed for Amazon gift cards, magazine subscriptions or cash paid through Paypal.

6. Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is very similar to the other apps like Ibotta that we have listed above. You purchase eligible items, scan the receipt and earn points. However, instead of being able to cash in your points for cash, you will choose gift cards from hundreds of different retailers.

If you want to get started with Fetch Rewards, click here and then enter code FRWEB. This will give you 2,000 points which are worth $2.00.
