Personal Finance Week in Review for August 12

by Sean Bryant on August 12, 2012

I can’t believe that we are already nearly half way through August.  Where has this summer gone?  I guess my wife and I have been so busy with the baby planning and also have been out of town for a couple different weeks.  I guess time really flies when you’re having fun.

It’s finally starting to cool down here in Denver.  The past couple of days it has only been around 90 and not 100 like it has been for most of the summer.  I got away for the afternoon on Friday and went up in the mountains for a bike ride where it was about 20 degrees cooler.  Sure can’t complain about that.  While I was up there I found out that its only 84 days until I will be able to strap on the snowboard again for the 2012-13 season.  I can’t wait.

What fun things did you do this weekend?

Thank you for the mention Sean. Glad to hear that it has cooled down a bit out your way. That’s gotta make the bike riding a bit easier. Maybe this will be the winter that I finally get back into skiing. They have been sitting in my closet just collecting dust, but I really miss being up on the mountain.

One of the most relaxing times for me is when I am by myself on the ski life heading up. I love it.

    Hi Sean!
    Thanks for inclusion!
Is the 84 days with real snow or fake?

    • Sean @ One Smart Dollar

Most likely fake but it’s tough to say. We had a couple nice storms in October last year. I’ll take fake or real as long as I’m out there :-)

    Thanks for the mention, Sean!..

When is that baby due anyways?.. I bet you two are getting excited.

    • Sean @ One Smart Dollar

She is due October 28. We are both super excited. Starting to get nervous though. We have got a lot accomplished ahead of time so were not rushing at the end. Nursery is pretty much all set up already.

It is nuts how quickly the summer has gone…and the year for that matter. Thanks for the mention Sean! Are you guys pregnant? Did I miss that somewhere?

    • Sean @ One Smart Dollar

Yes you did :-) 2.5 months left to go

  • Earth and Money

Thanks for the link love! I went out for a ride yesterday to clear my head, and it was great. There’s something about biking that I love!
